What are the three essentials you think every room needs?

  • A large rug to help ground the space. Always make sure that at least the front legs of the upholstery are on the rug.
  • Accessories are the icing on the cake. They complete a space and help create a layered look.
  • Great lighting has the ability to make a home look more custom and high-end.

Create the ultimate living room by…

…Pairing a leather sofa with a linen sofa or a pair of upholstered chairs. This helps add interest to the room by making it feel more collected.

…Adding pillows to the sofa to bring in pattern and interest to the room. I always pick pillows with different colors and patterns, usually a large scale pattern, a stripe or geometric style, and something small scale. I also make sure that the one of the fabrics has organic shapes like a floral.

…Maximizing versatility. The Sylvie Sofa is great because it has clean lines and goes well with almost any style of home. It also has the ability to be dressed up or down depending on the other pieces of furniture it is paired with.

What makes performance leather the perfect choice for families?

Most of my clients have kids and need fabrics that look good without sacrificing function — I love that performance fabrics allow that! They are able to have their cake and eat it too, so to speak.

What is your favorite thing about working with Rowe?

The quality of the Sylvie Sofa, it is comfortable and very well-made. I can tell that I will have it for years to come, and it will keep its shape.
